1st Regiment cadet sets bar high

FORT LEWIS, Wash. – Gregory Leak, a MS-III Cadet from Dickinson College, set the 1st Regiment record today in the two-mile run with a time of 9:45. The feat was part of the Army Physical Fitness Test that cadets must pass at Warrior Forge.

Leak says that he could have finished the course even faster if he had not had to pass others on the course.

According to Al Cuniff, Warrior Forge Deputy Chief of Evaluations, Leak’s time is the 6th fastest since Warrior Forge began keeping records in 1998. The male record for the two-mile run is 9:13 set in 2005.

Leak says that he runs about 85 miles a week.

The 21-year-old biology major is assigned to 1st Regiment, Alpha Battery, 2nd Platoon.
